I have had a wide variety of teaching experiences around the Twin Cities metro area, including a sixth grade student teaching placement at an open-concept elementary school, a first grade student teaching placement at a high-diversity elementary school, and a fourth grade student teaching placement at a north metro suburban elementary school. I have spent time in inner-city St. Paul tutoring academically at-risk second grade students, as well as providing small-group instruction in math and reading to second graders at a rural elementary school. I am currently the 6th grade English Language Arts and Science teacher at Aurora Charter School in south Minneapolis, MN, where I teach a 100% Latino student population.
Below you will find links to my Gate 1 teacher education portfolio, my edTPA portfolio, and my Single Child Portfolio. Under this tab, you will find examples of lessons I have implemented in the classrooms I have student taught in, as well as other various teaching examples I have created throughout my educational career.
This portfolio contains artifacts and reflections that relate to the Wisconsin teaching standards. For each standard, there is a reflection and artifact that explains how and what I did for that artifact reflects that particular standard.
This portfolio contains the artifacts and commentaries that I submitted to Pearson as a part of my edTPA. I completed my edTPA Portfolio in literacy during my fall 2015 student teaching placement. For this assessment, I created and implemented a 5 day unit for fourth grade students on finding the main idea and supporting details in a text using the Treasures curriculum series.
This portfolio contains artifacts and reflection papers that relate to my perceptions of one child's various reading test scores data. As a part of my spring 2015 student teaching placement, I completed various developmental reading and fluency tests on a first grader and analyzed what I discovered and learned from administering those tests.
