The Sticky Fork

This is just a random minor magic item found in a curio shop by the pcs I thought up off the top of my head in the moment when the PCs were detecting magic in the shop. The PCs seemed to find endless uses for it at every opportunity.

The Sticky Fork's only property is that it sticks to two things always. It has a bond like an incredibly strong magnet to two different things. It will always be found stuck to two things, usually a surface like a table and something else. The only way to remove it is to break it, or one of the objects it is attatched to or add a third thing touching it, in which case it any on thing can be removed easily. It will only stick to relatively solid thing that one could pick up with a fork or larger.

For instance if found attached to a knife and a surface, an adventurer comes along and picks it up, the knife comes with it. However the adventurer will find that he can't drop the fork, though he can put it down on any surface. If he instead removes the knife while holding the fork, he will find himself firmly attatched to the fork which is firmly attached to the surface.

The sticky fork can be useful to form a handle on anything, prevent people or things from escaping, etc. Once it's properties are properly understood it can be used fairly easily.

Identify will only tell the magic-user casting it that the fork is sticky and not explain how that works.
