Next meeting: The Hon. Secretary had sent a letter to members before the meeting calling for a discussion on a change of venue to one which would allow more members to play in congenial conditions at some course not more than 15 miles from Cambridge. Several helpful replies were received but subsequent investigation by the Hon. Sec. revealed no possibility of a meeting of the Society on a Saturday at a suitable alternative course, except the relatively new course at the Cambridgeshire Hotel at Box Hill. He therefore proposed that the next meeting be convened on a Friday and that the date be shifted out of the busy Wimbledon/ Henley/ Test Match/ Founders' Day season into early September. After a lively discussion it was agreed that subject to the Society being able to return to R.Worlington at a future date the Hon. Sec. should pursue enquiries as proposed. Later he agreed with the Secretary of R. Worlington that a return of the Society would be welcomed and agreed to contact the Gog Magog and John O'Gaunt Clubs and the College to arrange a suitable date.

Weather - Morning mist clearing to sunny and warm
Next meeting: This meeting was the first to be arranged to take place on a Friday, Club activities effectively precluding visiting societies playing on Saturdays or Sundays. As the date occurred at the end of the recognised summer holiday period it was not thought to be too troublesome for the majority of members.
There is only one starting tee at this course and the play was very slow; the morning 3-ball Stableford's last 3 (including the Hon. Sec.) did not reach the Club House until past 2 pm, which made for some inconvenience in administration.
The course was in perfect condition but members wished to return next year to
R. Worlington on a Friday in early September, subject to the College's convenience

The question of members attending is now critical. R. Worlington have now intimated that visiting societies will be limited to a maximum of 24. The Hon. Sec. reported that he and Snaith had investigated John O'Gaunt G.C. at Sandy and recommended it for next year. Members were divided but recognised that as more members wished to play golf there was little option. The Hon. Sec. was authorised to arrange the venue and date.

As the College could not accommodate members in the SCR for dinner on Thursday 24th July, the golfers entertained the Master (Prof Harry Hinsley), the Hon. Sec. of the Society (Mr J Hall) and Mr Guy Lee to dinner in Hall and afterwards in the Wordsworth Room.
