Artifact: Pre & Post Observation Forms
Reflection: I believe the pre and post observation forms included here as an artifact display how thoroughly I practice self-reflection in planning for instruction. My lessons are designed based on what I know about my students and the needs they have at the time. This self-reflection allows me to have continually engaging and appropriate lessons for students that are responsive to behaviors, schedule adjustments, and data collected. On the post observation form, there is also clear evidence that I take feedback received from others, reflect upon it, and make immediate adjustments as needed. Between the date of the observation and date of the post observation conference (a matter of 8 days) I had already made adjustments to my instruction in response to feedback. I believe that my students deserve the best instruction available and am not willing to wait to make changes that I believe will positively impact their learning. These beliefs are why I also seek out ongoing professional development from sources like Twitter and Instagram. Continually learning and reflecting on the practices of my colleagues in education helps me feel confident in the instruction I am providing my students.
