Description
This is an example of a social media post shared on our school's channels. One of my roles has been managing our school's Facebook page, giving me extensive practice with sharing our values with the school community on a broader scale. I am communicating appropriately for our community and sharing details and photos in a way that aligns with district policies.
Reflection
One of the roles I view principals as having is the chief storyteller for the building. We must summarize information and communicate it in a clear, concise way that is aligned with our mission and values and appropriate for the audience we are sharing with. On social media, especially, it includes a strict awareness of policies to share appropriately.

Description
This is a presentation to our school board that I created and helped present in collaboration with our PLC leaders. The combination of photos, text, and video embedded into the presentation helped ensure that it was clear and easy to understand. The information was alos explained in a different way for our board and broader school community than it would have been for a presentation within our buildings, demonstrating an understanding of the setting and needs of those this was shared with.
Reflection
This activity was a collaborative project and presentation, giving me practice facilitating a group share-out to our school board that highlighted my staff members and the impact they have daily on students. In preparation for this presentation, I worked on summarizing information to ensure that the presentation would stay within requested time limits while still emphasizing necessary information. Gving the presentation helped prepare me for presenting in front of other large groups of colleagues.

Description
This is a letter of recommendation I wrote on behalf of a long-term substitute who was applying for her first full-time position. This is an example of how I am able to communicate for a particular purpose and communicate with clarity at a professional level.
Reflection
Principals are heavily involved with hiring and retention of staff members. Clarity of communication is vital to sharing feedback with staff members. Although this example shared positive feedback, as would be expected in a letter of recommendation, the practice of identifying and naming a staff member's strengths or areas of needed improvement with clarity is vital to the principal's role.
