Artifact: Observation Form
Reflection: Asking questions to deepen student learning is a strength of mine as an educator. I enjoy supporting student self-discovery through meaningful questioning. First, I've seen first hand how engaging inquiry based learning can be for students. Second, it is empowering for a student to recognize that they know more than they expected through responding to questioning. My strength in this area was observed and highlighted in the observation form linked above.
Artifact: Photo of students participating in Small Group
Reflection: This photo demonstrates an example of how I use instructional strategies to engage students and support appropriate pacing for each child. Student needs are addressed in small group settings. In this example, students are able to have an extension of the learning happening within our whole group lessons by adding in the hundreds place. Students are utilizing manipulative tools to support their learning and show what they know.
