Artifact: Student Point Sheet
Reflection: This student behavioral point sheet is one example of how I provide feedback on student behavior. The point sheet provides the student with specific target behaviors and multiple points of reflection and feedback throughout the day. Tracking the students' total points as well as points for particular periods of the day allows me to monitor behavioral progress and make adjustments as needed to support positive behavioral changes. I value the data this type of sheet provides as well as the frequency of feedback with my students.
Artifact: Photo of Exit Directions for Students
Reflection: I maintain consistent routines and expectations by utilizing a common format for student directions. Students are used to the format and are able to build independence with tasks because of it. I include not only the steps for students to follow, but also visuals where possible to enhance understanding for all students. Setting students up for success with visual directions helps to minimize other interruptions to work times and frees me up to support academic needs rather than procedural ones. With directions that students may need additional access to beyond a single activity, I have created QR codes that provide students with my traditional visual exit directions and my voice telling the directions. The image included here as an artifact displays the QR codes ready for students to scan.
