Wiki Space: The artifact that follows is a screen capture from a Wiki Space my colleague, Mrs. Long, set up for our 4th grade team to collaborate on. Using the Wiki as a place to share and plan together at any time, including while working from home, has been a great benefit to the cohesiveness of our instruction. Sharing ideas and resources among our grade level team improves student learning by broadening opportunities for engagement. This example of using a collaborative tool has also opened up opportunities for deeper discussions of practice and implementation during face to face collaboration experiences.
Google Doc: The second artifact included for this criterion is also a screen capture from a website. This screen capture is of a Google Docs document that I used for a collaboration with Dr. Sarah Montgomery of the University of Northern Iowa and Erica Christie who is currently the president of Curriculum that Matters, LLC. Having frequent contact with and planning assistance from such professionals broadens the range of possibilities within my classroom. Lessons taught from this collaboration have heightened student learning and interest. Continued collaboration will result in continual improvement in my instruction leading to continued improvement in student learning.
