Bell-Work Activities: One example of my ability to implement this criterion is the morning routine I developed for students to follow during the 2011-2012 school year. The artifact is a portion of that morning routine, the bell-work students began as soon as they entered the room. Including academic work as a portion of the morning routine supports high expectations for student learning by utilizing instructional time effectively, distributing practice, providing immediate feedback to student work, and holding students accountable for the work they are completing. This portion of the morning routine also dictates the atmosphere of our room as a learning environment before the day even begins.
