Project Rubric: The first artifact that I have included as representative of this criterion is a rubric used to assess student work on a project completed in social studies. This rubric was shared with students at the beginning of the project to make them aware of the expectations before they even began working. I went over each part of the rubric and expectations with students while the rubric was projected in front of the class, but also distributed a copy of the rubric to each group to reference back to as they began working. Prior to accepting finished projects I asked each group to score themselves using this rubric as another way for them to look closely at the expectations. Communicating the criteria in multiple ways provides students the best chances to meet my expectations.
