These are a series of lessons that were prepared for a class of mixed ages. The lessons say '9 to 14' on them, but were in fact used to teach a class that had a mixed age range from 7 years to 16. The younger children understood everything being taught and were able to retain the information easily without any problem, but if you were teaching to just a younger age group (say, 7 to 9) then be aware that you would not need to go into the level of detail contained within these lessons (unless you wanted to!). Similarly, youngsters of the age of 14 and over should really being going into much more detail in some parts than is perhaps contained within these lessons, which are really a very condensed and summarised version of the basics of Fiqh in these subjects.
Please also note that the class was girls only. As such, it made sense to discuss haid and the issues surrounding it as part of this subject of tahaara and salat since that is a key part of Islamic knowledge that every Muslim woman needs to know. However, since those teachers and parents accessing these notes may well want to use them for young boys, those notes will be presented as a separate download and no mention is made of it in any of the other lessons. That way, insha'Allah, these lesson notes will be as versatile as possible for as wide a range of possible teaching scenarios as possible.
These lessons will be posted as they are typed, so please do check back regularly. Each one will also have a small test (multiple choice, 30 mins in length) after each section or topic that can be downloaded for use as well insha'Allah. There will also be a one-hour exam covering the whole topic which will be posted at the end insha'Allah. The titles that are in red are the links to click which will take you to the PDF documents on Box where you can read them online or download them and/or print them off.
