Hi Intention 13 crew,

This email is only going out to people who registered.

Other emails will come over the next few days related to other topics. The topic of this email is getting to I13 full event: the possibility to rent a bus for transport to and from the full I13 event and rideshare.

:::GROUP BUS:::

Josie and I would like to get a feel for how many people are out there interested in renting a charter bus to and from Intention. There are some very good reasons for folks to pool their resources:

1) Save on gas and the environment. If 40-60 people take a bus rather than 15-20 cars, it will save a lot on gas and carbon emissions

2) Stress free: no worries about snow or getting stuck or buying chains! Everyone who comes to Intention this year is required to have chains for their vehicles. If you don't have chains, they will cost you $50 - $200 and you MUST have them. The bus would have chains and get you in and out without worries

3) Depending on numbers of people cost would be about $20 - $30 per person RETURN (or maybe less...). Gas alone for a car will be about $40 - $50. We did this last year and it really worked out well for a lot of people.

IF people are interested in this idea, it would be GREAT to get an idea for numbers so that we can plan. We did this last year, with a pick up around noon in East Van on December 29 and a departure of around 3:30 p.m. back to Vancouver on January 2.

This will only happen if we have at least 40 committed people. If we have enough people for a bus, the following things need to happen, which I am willing to lead:

a) confirm the bus if there were enough people interested

b) set up a meeting time and place for people to get on the bus

c) collect money and pay for the bus.

ntention works as a community to get everyone and all their stuff to Intention and back. This means people who have cars help where they can if they can manage it and people who need rides ask early and communicate frequently so we know where there are issues in getting people to and from the event.  Rideshare is especially good if you are traveling outside of times that the group bus is scheduled.
