Subject: Vol. 2: Packing list for Intention 13
To: i13 News <intentionx@lists.tribalharmonix.org>
Hello Intentionites,
This email is only going out to people who registered.
Other emails will come over the week related to other topics. The topic of this email is what to pack and what to leave behind.
Here’s an email that will help you pack for Intention. A similar list, with perhaps more items, will come to you next week as well. Start a corner to put those special things you just can’t leave behind. Especially the bathing suit...
What to Leave Behind:
* Scents. A lot of people are intolerant to scents in shampoos, colognes, soaps, you name it. Please leave smelly things behind.
* Peanuts, or nuts of any kind. Kids with allergies use this camp. Nuts are NOT ALLOWED on premises, not even in your car.
* Anise, fennel, licorice: one of our attendees cannot be in the same room as these. Check for these in your Chai, teas, toothpaste, cough drops (fisherman friends) and other scented products.
* Candles - wax leaves messes that cost us extra for cleanup
* Dogs and other companion animals (Unfortunately animals--especially dogs--do not mix well with a large crowd of strange people of all ages. We don't like the idea of having to ask folks who bring animals to keep them tied up at all times, so we ask if you would please leave your non-human friends with others who can love them safely over Intention week. Thx)
* Cellphones - 'coz they won't get reception at the camp anyway =]:P
Necessities:
* WARM CLOTHES e.g. socks, sweaters, longjohns, extra pair of shoes, gloves, etc.
* Heavy plastic garbage bags to store your clothes in as a bed bug prevention measure
* Drivers need snow chains and a shovel for your car. The camp is up a fire road and you will need chains in heavy snow.
* Bedding (bunk beds have vinyl-covered mattresses)
* Toiletries
* Towels: you may want one for bathing and one for the pool
* Swimsuit: must wear in pool:), and flip flops, bathrobe
* Snacks and food if you have food allergies, to be kept in kitchen
* Raingear
* Pj's
* Thermarests, or something to sleep on for temple night.
Highly Recommended to Bring:
* Flashlight
* Ear plugs
* Musical instruments
* If you have an instrument to plug into a PA, bring your cables
* Journal
* Yoga mat
* Tutu and costumes
Things you'll want for ritual
* Temple objects for altars that will be around our dance space
* Clothing for temple night, whatever garb you consider ceremonial or sacred
Would be Really Cool if you could Bring for Camp:
* Tea (mate, herbals, hot chocolate)
* Meditation cushions for meditation room
* Fabrics to loan to build party space. Decor pod will have way to label fabrics to ensure return to you. We need LOTS of fabric. Label it with safety pinned name.
* Large safety pins, thumb tacks, or strong twine to donate to decor pod
* Craft supplies, e.g. paintbrushes, paints, crayons, paper, beads, feathers, crepe paper, glue gun w/glue, scissors anything with which to make masks, paint, have fun, doodle
* Rugs, couches, pillows (transportation can be arranged if you have couches, futons or large rugs)
* Wall-hangings or art hangable in temple
* LED christmas lights
* Boardgames, cards
* Firewood
