Feedback & Advice from Students who have completed the process will be put here
Respected sir,
I am Misbah Rafiq your old student MS (Eco). I have been taken research workshop from you in the last semester 2010. I have successfully presented my Research proposal Identification of Hazardous Occupations and Socio-Economic aspects in the Worst Forms of Child Labor in Pakistan on 12 January, 2011 under the supervision of Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir (PIDE) Thank you for taking the time out to discuss. One thing which i want to say from the core of my heart you are a beacon of light for all of us because i was no experience before attending the workshop. No knowledge about research proposal and how to prepare but under your guidelines and motivation I feel learn a great deal from you
Best Regards
Misbah Tahir
My response to Misbah Tahir:
I am happy to hear that students have derived benefit from my teaching. I find that there are THREE major areas where I have to work on with most students. I am hoping that all of my students will become teachers themselves and spread the message of Islam, and so I want them to know this, so that they also learn how to work with their students.
A: Students have low self-esteem. They think they cannot do much, their time is not valuable, their research will not bring any benefit to anybody. They are working to fulfill paper requirements and to get degree, not to get knowledge, and not for the benefit of the Ummah. I have to work on changing all of these ideas. In particular, I encourage students to change from an attitude of selfishness -- working purely for your own benefit -- to an attitude of generosity -- working selflessly for the benefit of the Ummah as a whole.
B: Students are lazy. To do valuable work, one must work very hard. Allah T'aala says that He guides those who STRUGGLE towards him. So the hard work is required as a condition for guidance. Surah Muzammil says that WE will send you a HEAVY message. The BURDEN of the message of Islam is heavy and requires hard work to carry.
C: Connection with Allah T'aala is weak. Allah T'aala is the source of all knowledge and all success lies ONLY in His hands. Without developing a strong relationship with Allah all our efforts are in vain. Allah T'aala Himself has invited us in the Holy Quran to seek His friendship and His assistance.
