Research Proposals

There are now THREE websites which deal with research proposals. The FIRST website for all proposals is IIIE THESIS WRITERS This is an interactive website, which has a page for EACH student in thesis writing OR proposal development phase. The student should update his or her page with a weekly progress report. Comments on the page should be given regularly by supervisor on a weekly basis. In addition other interested parties from faculty or students can provide comments, suggestions or advice by commenting on the page.

The SECOND website for research proposal is THIS ONE. Those students who think that their proposal is now READY to be presented officially at the faculty research seminar for final evaluation should submit the proposal to TAUQIR, who will load it onto THIS website. At this point the proposal will be evaluate to see if it is ready for presentation before the faculty research seminar. If it is ready, then approval to present will be given. If it is not, then suggestions on how to make it ready will be provided here.

Once the proposal is ACCEPTED after formal presentation at the faculty research seminar, then it gets loaded onto the THIRD website: IIIE Research Proposals . Here the OFFICIAL record of what happens to the proposal is maintained. The status of the proposal -- accepted at faculty seminar, followed by Board of Studies, followed by BASR approval, VIVA and all official records are maintained at this website by Tauqir. In the meantime, the FIRST website will remain active, as the student works on researching and writing his/her thesis. The students should update the FIRST website on weekly basis with progress reports on what they are doing in terms of research and writing, and supervisor should continue to provide feeback and guidance on a weekly basis.

============================================================================

Very large numbers of students submit research proposals for me to evaluate. This evaluation is meant to judge whether the proposal is suitable to be presented at a seminar before the faculty at IIIE. This is a private website which can be accessed only by IIIE students working on research. This page lists the steps to submission of a research proposal. At the stage where the proposal is submitted to me, I will create a webpage and then attach his/her proposal to the website so that I and other faculty members get access to a soft copy. We will put comments on the proposal on this webpage. Revisions can be put in on the same webpage.

NOTE: A Green Check Mark in the last column means that I am done evaluating the proposal (it may be accepted, rejected, or put on R&R = Revise & Resubmit)

Steps in Preparing and Submitting MS Research Proposals are listed in the STUDENT GUIDE page. Please read this before submitting a proposal for evaluation.

Ph.D. Proposals and current status is listed here.

A new website has been created for THESIS WRITERS. This can only be accessed by students working on thesis/proposals: [link]
