For those of you not present -- We are playing on Sunday. I changed the ballgame a bit two hours before practice!
I realized as I was going through some things that I had wanted us to play this coming Sunday (for our July Sunday), but I wasn't getting an answer about it. Sooooo...... I called Pastor and asked if we could. He said yes, so tonight, we practiced for this coming Sunday.
Individuals not present tonight shouldn't sing on Sunday - we looked at a few songs in detail, figured out harmonies. So let people who were present on Tuesday handle this one so that it doesn't bomb!
Future events for all -- See July's calendar and note the following:
Next Sunday, July 22nd -- band playing
Next Tuesday, July 24th -- Get together at 5:30pm for dinner (bring $) before practice. We'll get together and talk about things related to music ministry, and also just be goofy. I'll send out more details soon. Let this guy know if you can't make it! -->
Friday, July 27th -- "Gig" at Christian rapper's event in Evanston. We will probably do this. Get ready! See flyer below.
Notes on practice --
Jesús Es El Señor --
Changing 6 beat rests to 4 beat rests.
No wonder I don't sleep. I wrote out the harmony line for the chorus. Click here to listen, and it's also in the "Music Library".
Qué Me Puede Dar Perdón
Key of E!! I shouldn't have even made the other version! >:-s
This hymn is overall in 4/4, but there are a few 2/4 bars that seem to throw rhythm off. Be aware.
Key change for second half! Be ready for it.
Third verse quiet.
Jasmine -- Music done! Click here, or "Music Lib"
El Nombre de Jesús Load
Christina - need to listen to the bridge on this one on Youtube. Click here, also in music library in "Himno" section.
Just Jasmine, Brandon, and $Man on third verse.
Hosanna
Intro is first verse there.
Jasmine -- There is now music for you! Click here, or music library.
During the [[[ Emin G ]]] part, ignore the "G". Get what I'm sayin, G?
This Is Our God
Instrumental interlude only once. We do it intensely. Sí.
After bridge, 16 beats -- and everyone keep playing, just gradually die down.
Jasmine -- # # # # # # # # # # #
Bass -- No grace notes or fancy stuff in this one. Maybe during the bridge you could shift back and forth between octaves?? "Freely you..." low E, high E, low E, high E... ????
En Ti -- We did not practice it, but we will do it as we always have.
