Welcome to the event. "Pray Chicago" is awesome.
Our church and our team has been affected by violence.
This is a sacrifice of time and effort for many of you - Many of you have told me you've been previewing.
Putting Scriptural truths to music gives us a taste of Heaven.
How I roll:
Let's play a few chords to see how we sound
Preview a song, quick overview - I write detailed chord sheets
Play it, see how it sounds
Go back and make decisions: When to release, when to come in, when to stop, etc.
Our chord sheets could be rough drafts - This is a paper-heavy ministry.
Generally speaking, the general road map of the song itself stays in tact. No changes. No compromises. What could change at service time = intro's, outro's, and if Pastor doesn't recall how long a midtro is, that could change too.
I try to direct little things much as possible - entrances, cut off's, OK you start, now you come in, OK build the intensity
