Haunting Halloween Hullabaloo and Rocket Competition at the Countryman
Saturday the 30th of October saw a dozen or so cars leave the Countryman PH at Tasburgh, Norfolk to bravely run through the Broadland area and venture into Norwich’s medieval heartland.
The Ghost Run, based in and around Norwich took in some of the most fiendish ghouls legend has proclaimed inhabit there, from filthy rats in Norwich Station, to Furry Cats that are bad tempered and roaming the Norwich suburbs, there where ghosts a plenty.
The main highlight of the run was a drive down one of Britain’s oldest streets, Elm Hill commonly used in Hollywood films, is a cobbled street that is still open to traffic today and is one of the city ghostly hot-spots and many of the cars occupants dressed up to join in the fun.
Once safely back at the Countryman the second part of the evening’s entertainment began in the form of a gentleman’s rocket competition. All attending gentleman were invited to launch a rocket, all of which were judged by the ladies present on some of the more imaginative categories such as “first impressions” and “heights reached”. The overall winner and Norfolk meet regular Paul took 1st place with his pyrotechnic crowd pleaser and won the “star” prize of a small box of chocolates, he then informed me he was diabetic....oops!
