The tech day held at Geoff's was a great success. Eight members turned up and work was carried out on: -
MJK's Mariner Blue Mk1, Darren's Green Mk 2, Johns Black Mk1, John's Green Mk2, and Geoff's Mariner Blue Mk1.
Thanks from all, to Rob, for giving us the benefit of your experience.
We used Rob’s skills as a Mazda technician to demonstrate the correct techniques involved in the various jobs. He also supplied a vast stock of drain plug washers and had all the right tools such as various adaptors for removing the oil filter; a good torque wrench, which we noted, was used for the final tightening of all plugs and a neat box for reading the Mazda diagnostics.
The pit in Geoff's garage made the day easy and everybody went away having learned something.
Sorting John's knocking brakes, we also changed the coolant while the front was raised.
The jobs included oil changes to engine, gearbox and differential. Daz managed to overfill his engine and also dropped the sump plug into the dirty oil container.
Filler bottle for gearbox.
Differential drain plug and filler plug [just] on Mk2.
We also cured a squeaky clutch release rod, diagnosed a strange noise, changed coolant and adjusted rear brakes.
BBQ on 18th October!! Robbie, Jon, John, Martin C, Daz & MJK.
