Quairading Machinery Rally 2020

Quairading 10th October 2020.

A couple of hours drive East of Perth, hosted by the Quairading Vintage Club, the Quairading Machinery Rally was held on the 10th October. Kim and Sylvia hauled their caravan out the day before while Geoff and Elaine choose to make it a day trip. Shown our site at 7am we had plenty of time to set up two gazebos and lay out our wares by the start time of 10am. Kim had tool sales and display tables while Geoff had the Smiths boring machine replica on display.

Our display and tool sales.                                                                                        Stationary engines.

Near us the MPC had a fairly extensive display of stationary engines and a working blacksmith. There was a wide variety of tractors, trucks and cars on display.

Off to one side a young lady had a horse works set up with her horse driving a corn grister.

A grand parade of everything mobile was held twice during the day and one interesting rig was a gentleman driving his tractor and harvester from the seat of the harvester by remote control consisting of a steering wheel extension and two ropes.

So much for remote control being a modern innovation.

We had a steady flow of visitors throughout the day with a lot of interest and discussion about Kims tools and the boring machine.

Our thanks to the organisers, and Andrew in particular, for inviting us out to this enjoyable event.
