Moondyne Festival Toodyay 2021

Sunday 2nd May 2021

Traditionally held on the first Sunday in May at Toodyay, the Moondyne Festival celebrates the life and times of Moondyne Joe aka Joseph Bolitho Johns, Western Australias most notorious bush ranger, a great day out that we at the HTPSWA look forward to each year.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        This annual event just made it this year after a relaxed Covid lock-down and the  organisers were pleased with a four thousand plus crowd as the town celebrated.

Willie had sales and Arthur had the wooden planes to show to the excited mob. The interest in Kim’s collection of axes continued all day.  Bob had an 18th century plough plane and a variety of Edward Preston tools on display as well as some tools for sale.

Tini, Brenda, Tim and Sylvia were backup in case the roving convicts got out of control. The street theatre, MG cars, stalls, school choirs and the shepherd with his dog guiding a small flock of sheep through the crowd made for an entertaining outing. We even had our private Morris Dancing set.
