Googling Vs Google Alerts
When I want to stay informed about a certain word, I can Google this term every so often or turn on Google Alerts. Most of the time I forget to Google the term or do this not often enough. By using Google Alerts I can be certain to keep up to date with the term without having to remember to Google it.
Following A Term With Google Alerts
An example of a term I follow with Google Alerts is: Databeet. When something is published on the internet about Databeet I get an email with links to the new news about the term Databeet. If there is no news about the term I don't get an email.
Tips In Using Google Alerts
I myself think of these tips, when using Google Alerts for terms I want to keep up to date with.
If I find a term really important set the Google Alert on dialy for this term
If I only want the most relevant results about a term choose most important results
If I only want results on a term in a certain language choose that language
Don't set too many Google Alerts in the beginning
Don't set all Google Alerts on the same day
Don't only use Google Alerts to keep up to date with a term.
