The Abundant Life
People that are not saved or do not believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior are living under the law because the Word say in Galatians 3:22; as it is, scripture makes no exception when it says that sin is master everywhere; so the promise is given only by faith in Jesus Christ to those who have this faith. Now before faith came, we had no choice but to be under the law, it kept us under restraint until we learned to have faith In Jesus. Therefore, the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Now many, who believe, do not know how much God loves them because of the teachings from the law where they learned and believed that God will curse them if they break the law. However, in the new covenant in Romans 5:8 it says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And in 1st John 4:9 we read “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”
It was the love of God that sent Jesus into the world; read John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Therefore, without the love of God we do not know who we are in Christ Jesus. We read the Bible that tells us that we are sons and daughters of God but we do not know what that really means. For instance, my son or grandson can walk into my house, open the refrigerator, and get something to eat and there is nothing wrong with that because they are my son or grandson. We should be able to do that in God’s house as sons and daughters of God.
I do believe that when I was born again, I became a new creation; God put a new spirit in me (the spirit of Jesus) that is without sin. He then cleaned me up of all my sin. I find that in the second Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.” Where did that happen? It happened in my spirit, not in my body or my soul.
I prayed to receive the Holy Spirit thinking that was salvation so God saved me and at the same time I received the Holy Spirit. The same thing happened to the apostles on the day of Pentecost. After I told God, "I believe that Jesus is your son." God downloaded a great quantity of information concerning Jesus starting from the beginning of the Bible to the end. He told me that Jesus came to "reverse" what Adam had done.” However, I understood better later, when I read in John 15:26 where Jesus said “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”
The bible says that we are the righteousness of God in Him. What does that mean? It mean that we are in right standing with God as Jesus is. To understand that, you Read in 2th Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Also read, Romans 5:17 for if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one (Adam), much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, (Jesus Christ).
By His grace, we are born again and filled with His Holy Spirit and not by anything that we do: The Spirit in us blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. In other words, in our spirit there is the power that raised Jesus from the dead: Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Read in the book of Acts 1:8 it says "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you."
Now I know, that the spirit of Jesus which is the Holy Spirit, which is in me without any sin, (Jesus never sinned) makes me know that when the Bible says “we have to renew our mind” that, that means we study the Word to renew our mind. Why? Because only our spirit was born again, our body and our soul were not born again. In 1 John 4:4 it says "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” That means that Jesus lives in me, in my spirit, taking me up to heavenly places.
So in my spirit, there is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law. Like it says in Galatians 5:22. And by His grace, there is also salvation and healing. 1 Peter 2:24 "who Himself (Jesus) bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed.” When we “were healed” in our spirits then we can be healed in our bodies, when we learn how to take possession of it from our spirit. Therefore, that sickness has to leave my body. My job then is to appropriate the healing and all that Jesus has provided for me (which is inside my spirit) by His faith and grace. I will not let the sickness take that away from me, I will stretch out my hand and heal the sick, and I will use the name of Jesus to defeat the sickness.
Consequently, because of God’s love and by faith in what Jesus did, I am a son of God. By faith, I can defend what Jesus has already put in me by His grace. By faith in the Word of God, I will renew my mind daily. Romans 1:17 says; “for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith;” as it is written, "The just shall live by faith.'' I will live by faith, and not by sight. We have the authority to speak to that mountain (problem) and it will move, in Jesus name.
Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” The abundant life is only lived when we live in the spirit as Jesus did when He lived here on earth.
