The kingdom of God is what Jesus brought back to the believers in this earth. Jesus set up the Kingdom to reign in people like it does in Him It is a spiritual Kingdom. John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.'' John 6:63 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. We (the believers)are spirits that live in a fleshly body. Jesus told us to be filled with the Holy Spirit after we are born again: John 14:16.The citizens of the Kingdom of God that are living in this world wrestle against the rulers of the darkness of this age, (Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.) and to be able to wrestle and win against the rulers of darkness we have to be filled (baptize) with the (Helper) Holy Spirit.
John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 15:26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and He said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit, if you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained'' in the day of Pentecost the Spirit came like a rushing mighty wind. Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.''
What are we to witness? We are to witness Jesus whose father was not Joseph (Mary's husband) but God Himself, that by His dead, burial and resurrection He paid for all our sins and sickness therefor reversing what Adam had done when he disobeyed God. Jesus is alive today and lives in us through the Holy Spirit, and signs and wanders should follow us just as when Jesus walked here on earth. We have a relationship with Jesus and He guides us through our hearts and tells us what to speak, for He knows what is in our heart and He knows if we walk in love therefor He is number one in our heart, that is why He can moves through us. Jesus also knows our hearts by our actions and words that we speak toward others. An example of these is the story of Joseph, (read Genesis 37:2 to Genesis 41:44) when his brothers, had sold him into slavery; even then, he would always put God first, and God had blessed him in the house of an Egyptian but Egyptian’s wife told Joseph to "Lie with me.'' “Joseph was handsome in form and appearance” and he was only seventeen but he told her “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?'' and she had him put into prison, but God continue to bless him until he ended up second in command over Egypt.
A citizen of the Kingdom will not worry (have fear) of what people think but will always place Jesus first. The Holy Spirit should guide everything that we do, for it is the Holy Spirit, which talks to us in our spirit and teaches us all things, and guides us on what to do. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:9 "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you."
"Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." it says in Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." Romans 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Romans 8:16 "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, (meaning that we went to the cross with Him because He took our place on the cross) that we may also be glorified together." 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But, God has revealed them to us through His Spirit." "For the Spirit searches all things, yes, and the deep things of God." 1 Corinthians 2:11 "For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God."
We might ask what about the natural man? the bible says: 1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
The bible also says: 1 Corinthians 3:16 "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" 1 Corinthians 6:19 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" 2 Corinthians 3:17 "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Galatians 4:7 "Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." Galatians 5:25 "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Ephesians 1:13 "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory." 1 John 3:24 "Now he who keeps Jesus's (love commandments) abides in Him, and He in him." And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us." 1 John 4:2 "and the way to find out if their message is from the Holy Spirit is to ask: Does it really agree that Jesus Christ, God's Son, actually became a man with a human body?" If so, then the message is from God.
1 John 4:13 "By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit." John 14:21 "He who has My (love commandments) and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.''
The bible speaks for itself and what I understand is that the Kingdom of God is what Jesus brought back for the believers here on the earth by His dead, burial and resurrection. Jesus taught us to pray “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” We need to understand how the Kingdom of God is in us and will work here on earth, that Jesus gave us the authority to operate in the Kingdom. We have to learn what our Father God wanted for His people to have on this earth from the beginning.
