Beacon Registration document. The Club has four Personal Locator Beacons or PLBs, one of which is ideal for water activities that can be used in emergencies to locate lost or injured persons carrying the PLB. Leaders of off-track walks, through-walks or activities in remote areas, should consider taking a PLB, especially where there is the possibility that a group sent for help, would not be able to contact Emergency Services or Club contacts within the same day. The PLBs will normally be held by the Off-track Walks Co-coordinator. A Club PLB is also available for hire to club members for private use, at reasonable rates, provided the PLB is not being used for Club outings at the time.
