The climb up South east has become the tourist route but is still challenging, you must have good scrambling skills to get up over rocks and up chimneys, some sections of minor exposure. This is a 1000m ascent and descent, so a good, sustained fitness level is required. The route down off Mt Barney will be South Ridge a longer way down, but interesting with varied microclimates giving different ecosystems. If you haven’t been up this mountain before and have the required fitness levels, please come along. This being the day of the referendum please pre vote.
Departure: White Street Nerang 5:15am SUGGESTED DONATION: $20 or camp at Flanagan’s Reserve. Leave from Yellow Pinch car park at 7am.
