For those of you who receive Friends on Foot by mail – this is the reason it was sent out late this month. While on the ascent from Warrie Circuit I had a bit of a “Turn”, i.e. heart palpitations, hyperventilating, dizziness, wobbly legs – you name it. Lis called the Ambos – they called the SES – 3 teams arrived with 2 stretchers. It took them 5 hours to haul me over 5kms of very rugged and steep terrain with rocks, roots, creeks, fallen trees and finally under Twin Falls at twilight – VERY SCARY! Finally got out at 8pm and into waiting ambulance and off to Robina Hospital Emergency for tests and overnight. Out-patient tests to follow.
To my wonderful bushie friends: Lis, Ellen, Greg & Laura – THANK YOU. Also to the 3 paramedics, Park Rangers and 10 SES workers – I will always be in their debt. Lesley
