20 Jan Springbrook Walks Leader: Meriel Luff
23 walkers left from Mudgeeraba to meet at Best of All Lookouts, where sunny weather provided a clear view of the Tweed Valley. Then we returned to Tallanbana picnic area for an early morning tea and a walk around the popular Twin Falls track. After lunch back at Gwongorella picnic area about 8 of the group also walked the Purling Brook Falls track for an extra workout.

On this hot day Tamborine was a good place to be, when 21 bushies left from Mudgeeraba via Motorway exit 60 and Michigan Drive to re-group at the entrance to Palm Grove National Park.
This section contains an excellent collection of buttressed trees. We then drove to the Joalah National Park area via Lapsang Road. After morning tea at the attractive 'Tea and Niceties' garden cafe or a picnic at the nearby park we walked the Joalah and Curtis Falls tracks, though some of the latter was closed off. The activity concluded with a visit via Long Road down to the Botanic Gardens for lunch with the greedy-eyed kookaburras
