William A. "Bill" Schaller Sr., 74, of Waynesburg, formerly of Washington, PA, and Greensburg died Thursday March 19, 2015, at Washington Hospital. He was born Jan 23, 1941 in Greensburg, a son of the late Wed dell George and Miriam M. Swartzwelder Schaller. Mr. Schaller was a graduate of Greensburg-Salem High School and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. From his youth until 1968, he was employed at Schaller's Bakery in Greensburg.

Mr Schaller was employed wth the Pennsylvania State Police-Washington Barracks for 25 years, retiring in 1993.

He enjoyed genealogy, restoring and maintaining the Weddell Cemetery in West Newton, fishing and especially enjoyed his special times with his grandchildren and family. He was a member of the NRA and the FOP. Mr. Schaller was formerly married to Dulcina Bompiani Nunes, who survives. On July 11, 2003, he married Kathy J. Chester, who also survives. Surviving are his children; son, William A. (Karen R.) Schaller Jr., of Bethel Park; daughter, Kathleen D. (James) Petley, of Pittsburgh; son, Wedel Sean (Jamie) Schaller, of Washington; stepson, Richard (Jaime) Studt, of Washington; stepdaughters, Jamie (Evan) Zatezalo, of Canonsburg, and Lori Studt, of Waynesburg; brothers, Weddell B. Schaller, of Greensburg and Warren E. (Mary) Schaller, of Youngwood; sisters, Marbeth Schaller, of Jefferson, and Gretchen Tolmer, of Pasadena, Md.; two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth Petley; and step-grandchildren, Marcus Studt, Taylor Wilson, Reagan Zatezalo, Zoe Zatezalo, Brittany Studt, Shelby Studt and R.J. Studt. Mr. Schaller was preceded in death by a brother, Walter L. Schaller. At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. Burial will be private. Elmer E. Seanor Jr., 55, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 1996. He was born Aug. 23, 1941, in Greensburg, the oldest son of Jane L Yarnell Seanor of Greensburg and the late Elmer E. Seanor Sr. He was raised in the faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was employed for 21 years at Overmyer Mould Co., Greensburg. He was a member of AMVETS, Greensburg. Surviving are four borthers, Thomas and RIchard A. of Greensburg. Gary L. of Rector and Walter Seanor of Ligonier. His life was blessed by six beloved children, Carle Hughey and Carrie Mann, both of Greensburg, Mrs. Kenneth (Tammy) Presock of Jeannette, Michael Seanor of Greensburg, John and James Smith, both of Jeannette. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elmer was loved by many and will be missed.

Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt, where funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Allan Scanlon officiating. Word has been received that Suzanne Snyder Schnitzer, 42, of Gates Mills, Ohio, formerly of Greensburg, died Saturday, Feb 18, 1984, in Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield, Ohio. She was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Greensburg, the daughter of Esther Snyder of Greensburg and the late Edwin Snyder. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin, Jr. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert, and two daughters, Heidi and Lisel, both at home.

Edward A. Sonnie, 58, of York, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Carlisle Hospital. He was born April 19, 1941, in Greensburg, a son of Isabelle M. (Gannon) Sonnie of Greensburg and the late Carl T. Sonnie. He was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran. He was formerly employed by the American Chain and Cable Co. in York and with the U.S. Postal Service in East York, and was a member of the Hilltop Social Club, Greensburg. He was the former husband of Marlene Gloria (Pallitta) Sonnie of Virginia Beach, Va. Also, he is survived by a son, Edward A. Sonnie II of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Carla Sonnie-Anderson of Centerville, Utah, and Rita Sonnie Sprenkle Kauffman of Dillsburg. Pa.; three brothers, James C., Neil P., and Carl T. Sonnie, Jr., all of Greensburg; five grandchildren; companion of Geraldine M. Buckel of York; and six stepgrandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. am. at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York. Ronald L. (Rock) Starry, 79, of New Alexandria (Salemville), entered a new life with our Lord surrounded by his loving family at home Wednesday, June 9, 2021. He was born Nov. 7, 1941, in Salemville, son of the late Joe and Irene (Campbell) Starry. He was a drummer since the age of 11 for many local bands (Riggy LaVelle and The Gene Peterson Trio). Ron graduated from Greensburg Salem High School in 1959 and retired from the Elliott Company with 45 years of service. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the St. James Parish in New Alexandria. His passion for Buicks and Cadillacs led to him opening Starry's Auto Sales in 1976. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America as well as the Buick Club of America. He was also a lifetime member of the Salemville Ukrainian Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Le, and two brothers, Joseph and Dennis. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Karen (Newhouse) Starry; his children, Douglas (Dana) Starry, Susan Starry, Jerry Starry and Ronald Starry Jr. (all from New Alexandria); and three grandchildren, Douglas (Chelsie) Starry Jr., Daniel Starry and Lauren Starry; his great-grandchildren, Callie and Chloe Starry; and numerous nieces and nephews. R. Dean Sickenberger, 80, of South Greensburg (Hufftown), died Monday, August 23, 2021 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born November 17, 1940 in Greensburg, a son of the late Raymond J. and Rebecca (Waugaman) Sickenberger. Prior to retirement he had been employed by United Parcel Service. He was a member of St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg, and was a life member of South Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin sisters, Emma “Sammy” Schweinsburg, and Rebecca Hill. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sylvia M. (Nowicki) Sickenberger; his son, Dean Sickenberger (Sandy), of Unity Township; his daughter, Diane Armstrong (Bob), of Unity Township; and four grandchildren, Brooke and Jason Armstrong, and Ryan and Chase Sickenberger. There was nothing “Pap” loved more than watching Jason, Ryan, and Chase’s sporting events and spending time visiting with Brooke. He was their biggest fan! Dean is also survived by three brothers-in-law, Edward Nowicki, Archabbot Douglas Nowicki, and Larry Nowicki (Katie); and a number of nieces and nephews.
