Renee Marquis Teeter, 66, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007. She was born Sept. 12, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late James and Mary Marquis. She was a graduate of Greensburg High School Class of 1959 and Indiana University Class of 1963. She started her career as a teacher and later became an administrative assistant with Teeter & Associates in Greensburg. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Despite her health issues, she always had a positive attitude. Surviving are her husband, Robert N. Teeter; son, Rob Teeter and wife, Melissa, of New York City; daughter, Devon Nordine and husband, Charles, of Camp Hill; sister, Marilyn Soules and husband, Al, of Michigan; grandchildren, Reilly and Meghan Teeter; and several nieces and nephews. James P. “Maz” Maschak, 56, of New Alexandria, Died Friday, January 24, 1997, in Fairfax County Hospital in Falls Church, VA. He was born May 1, 1940, in Salem Township, the son of the late Steven and Anna Hornock Maschak. He was a machine operator and machinist for 35 years. He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria. In December, he received a 20-year certificate for volunteering for the new Alexandria Lions Club. He was a member of the Salem Ukrainian Club, Old Crabtree Sportsmen Club, and the Drifters Gold League. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Backos Maschak, in 1989; and a sister, Catharine Maschak, in 1968. He is survived by his companion and freind Jennie Monta; four childern, Frances Vozel, and Husband Frank of Dallas, TX; Stephen Maschak and wife, Margaret, of Greensburg; Susan McArdle and husbard, Mark, of Springfield, VA; and James Maschak of New Alexandria; five grandchildren; and five sisters, Margaret Fletcher of Hyatsville, MD; Mary Sigafoos of New Alexandria: Frances Holman of Washington, DC; Helen Buckley of Vienna, VA; and Anne Seeley of New Jersey. John A. Maurer, 61, of Largo, Fla., died Friday, July 11, 2003, in the Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Fla. He was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Greensburg, a son of the late John F. and Dorothy Long Maurer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict. John was employed by the City of Seminole in the public works department. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #400, Madeira Beach, Fla. He was owner/operator of Maurer Properties (1979-1989), Pennsylvania Cytology Service, a sales and estimator for a commercial and residential roofing company and a volunteer paramedic in Greensburg. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Doris Maurer, of Largo; a son, John Kenneth Maurer, of Colorado; three daughters, Sylenia Sharpe, of Seminole, Fla., Mia Sharpe, of Largo, and Lisa Maurer, of Florida; two grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Penn, of New York City, N.Y. Sandra R. (Menchio) Johnson, 75, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. She was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Nell (Naylor) Menchio. Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a caregiver. Sandra had a unique personality and will be remembered as being "impossible to forget." In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Amy Sumey; sisters, Carol Deluca and Luanne Bigi; and brother, Ron Menchio. Sandra will be dearly missed by her beloved family. She is survived by her son, Barry Baughman (Kimberly), of Doylestown; daughter, Toni Caughey, of Greensburg; sister, Lisa Cali (Joe), of Apollo; and Sonny Mechio (Sylvia), of New Derry; many nieces and nephews, including Liane; and special friend, Ginilou Iapalucci. Edward H. "Big Ed" Miller, 67, of Derry, formerly of Trees Mills, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, in Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, with his family by his side. He was born June 11, 1940, in Trees Mills, a son of the late Francis and Lillian (Huey) Miller. Prior to retirement, Ed was employed for 40 years as an operating engineer by Local 66. He greatly enjoyed his hobby of playing the guitar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two nephews, David Haver and Joey Cline. Michael C. Moore, 68, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011. He was proud to be a lifelong member of the Greensburg community and dedicated his life to enjoying family and friends here. He was committed to contributing as much goodwill back to the community as happiness he received from it. He was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Augusta, Ga., son of the late Albert H. Moore Jr. and Mae Conn Moore. Michael is survived by his wife, Jill Jinkinson Moore, of Greensburg; his son, Michael Quinn Moore, of Cotuit, Mass.; and his daughter, Megan Moore Ross and her husband, Robert, of Winnetka, Ill. He leaves four grandchildren, Calum Robert Ross, Michael Kovas Moore, Liam Michael Ross and Romas Sayler Moore. He is also survived by two brothers, Steven A. Moore and his wife, Marjorie, of Austin, Texas, and P. Scott Moore and his wife, Kathy, of Indian Lake, Pa.; a sister, Phoenix Hankison, of Brunswick, Ga.; and 14 nieces and nephews. Michael was president of the steel fabricating business Moore & Morford Inc. in South Greensburg for 20 years before retiring in 2010. Michael had the utmost respect for the plant's working men and women. He greatly valued their dedication and commitment and took great pride in their accomplishments building the community. Michael was a 1965 graduate of Purdue University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg, serving as a deacon and an elder. As president of the Greensburg YMCA for three terms, he helped found the YMCA Croquet Tournament. He was a member of the Greensburg Country Club and served as its president for two terms. He was a board member of the Westmoreland Cultural Trust, the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center and the Boy Scout Council of America. Michael reveled in the company of others. He welcomed any invitation to be with people and delighted in being part of the party. Morrison, Dr. Frank A. August 9, 1984. Word has been received of the death of Dr. Frank A, Morrison, JR., 41, of San Ramon, CA, formally of Greensburg, Wednesday, August 1, 1984, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Dublin, CA. He was born in Greensburg in 1943, a son of Frank A. and Millicent Morrison of Greensburg. Since 1982, Morrison has served as head of Nuclear Test Containment Program at Lawrence Livermore Test Laboratory.He joined the Livermore staff in 1977 after serving as a consultant for several years in the field of heat transfer and fluid dynamics.During his tenure at Livermore laboratory, he was responsible for the development of new technology for the assurance that test explosions on the Nevada Test Site will be contained underground. He joined the laboratory's Earth Science Department in 1979 as section leader for geomechanics.

Prior to his employment with Lawrence National Laboratory, Morrison was on the faculty at the University of Illinois in the mechanical and industrial engineering department. He served as assistant dean of the school of engineering from 1970-71. While at the University of Illinois, Morrison was honored with a Special Undergraduate Instruction Award, Effective Teaching Award, and was selected in 1977 as the Outstanding Young College Educator by the Champaign-Urbana Jaycees.

He was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. He earned his graduate and under-graduate degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where he received his Ph.D. in 1966 for a thesis titled "Thermodynamics of Time Dependent Irreversible Processes' His post-doctoral work included a year at Cambridge, England on a National Science Foundation scholarship.

He was a member of tne American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, He also served as a panelist of the National Research Council and as a reviewer for several professional journals. He was also a Little League Baseball coach in San Ramon.

In addition to his parents , he is survived by his wife, Louise Oklin Morrison, two sons, Joshua, 13, and Benjamin, 11. Both at home and one brother Richard J. of Princeton, MA.

John 'Mike' Mullin, 72, of Jeannette, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at home. He was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Greensburg, to John Mullin and Antoniette Thomas Mullin. Mike was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and the Silver Sneakers at the Greensburg Aerobic Center. He worked as a journeyman mold maker at Overmyer Mold and Owens Brockway and was a proud member of the American Flint Glassworkers Union, Local No. 71. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren and monthly breakfast with his retired buddies from Overmyer Mold. He also loved antiques and antique cars. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike was a compassionate and loving husband and caregiver to his wife of 45 years, Barbara C. Bolkovac Mullin. Barbara (Mummart) Castille, 74, of Greensburg, died peacefully Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Westmoreland Hospital, several days after being admitted, following a series of strokes. She died surrounded by her husband of 46 years, Carl J. Castille; and their three children, Molly M. Castille (Zevchak), of Greensburg, Robert W. Castille, of Ebensburg, and Katie M. Castille (Nerney), of Reading. She was born June 18, 1941, in Connellsville, a beloved daughter of the late William Edgar and Agnes Barbara Phillips Mummart. She graduated from West Virginia University after being crowned the original "Miss Mountaineer: Outstanding Senior Woman" in 1962. She continued her graduate education at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, becoming certified as a teacher and secondary school guidance counselor. Her career as a teacher and a guidance counselor included employment at Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Cold Spring Harbor, New York, and Greensburg, Irwin, and Latrobe. Upon her retirement, from Greater Latrobe School District in 2006, she and her husband traveled across many countries and continents in Asia, Europe, North and South America and Africa. She loved sports, animals, landscaping and gardening. She was an ardent fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, donated to animal welfare organizations worldwide, owned two cats and several Schnauzers throughout her lifetime, was always ready to offer counsel to friends and strangers on career paths, travel destinations, landscaping, decorating, sports, politics or healthy living. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Greensburg, where she assisted in beautifying and landscaping the grounds. She was also an active member of the Sierra Club of Greensburg, supporting and promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life. In addition to her husband and three children, she is survived by a younger sister, Pamela Harrod, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; six grandchildren, twins, Natasha and Nikolai, Alex, Juliana, Emma and Zachary; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was born July 7, 1941, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late James M. and Catherine M. Furin Murtland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Murtland. Janice M. Musingo, 71, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, in Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe. She was born Jan. 12, 1941, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Maselli) Musingo. Prior to her retirement, she had been a secretary for Robert B. Boyle Rentals. She was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael J. Musingo, on June 12, 2000.
