Carole A. (Gettemy) Katonka, 63, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, as a result of injuries of an automobile accident. She was born April 7, 1940, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Wayne B. and Alberta Keller Gettemy. Carole was employed by the Hempfield Shop 'n Save on Route 136. She was Protestant by faith. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Nancy J. Gettemy.

She is survived by her husband, Paul F. Katonka; a son, Paul F. Katonka Jr. and his wife, Nakia, of New Kensington; a daughter, Michele Keller and her husband, Randy, of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, Krystal and Sarah Keller, Alrainia Ware and Ezekiel, Josiah and Noah Katonka; a brother, William Gettemy; two sisters, Betty Good and her husband, Oscar, of Youngwood and Virginia Knotts, of Massachusetts; and a stepbrother, Adam Deemer and his wife, Margaret, of Greensburg. James M. Good, 40, of 20 Brown Ave., Grapeville, formerly of Greensburg, died Sept 1, 1981, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Oct. 25, 1940, in Greensburg, a son of the late Maurice V., "Pete" and Mary Margaret Regan Good. He was owner of P.J.'s Tavern in Grapeville. He was a member of the Young Voters Club of Greensburg and a social member of the Grapeville Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Darlene P. Curry Good; two daughters,Dana Marie and Erin Lynne Good, both of Greensburg; two step-daughters, Brenda and Luzon Curry, both at home; three step-sons, Michael, David, and Joseph Curry, all at home; and a sister, Mrs. Paul W. (Rebecca) Mikesell of Annapolis, Md.

Timothy P. Grabiak, of 532 George Street, Greensburg died Saturday Morning as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Greensburg, Nov 15, 1941, a son of Pauline Springer Grabiak and the late Floyd A. Grabiak. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral of Greensburg and an employee of the Hertz Corp. of Greensburg and Latrobe. In addition to his mother he is survived by his maternal grandmother Mrs. Gertrude Springer of Ligonier and two brothers; Mark D. and Thomas J., both of Greensburg, and two nephews. Friends will be received at the Barnhart Funeral Home, Greensburg, daily form 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., beginning Sunday at 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Barbara A. (Grajcar) Adams, 74, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born May 9, 1941, in Greensburg, a daughter of Cecelia J. (Scimmi) Grajcar, of Greensburg, and the late Mike J. Grajcar Sr. Prior to her retirement she was a secretary at Overmyer Mould Company, Greensburg. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. She was also a 1959 graduate of Greensburg High School. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, George T. "Tom" Adams on Nov. 6, 1995. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Michael J. Grajcar Jr. and his wife, Barbara A., of Greensburg; a nephew, Michael J. Grajcar III, of Latrobe, and his companion, Tina Helman; a brother-in-law, Donald Adams, of Greensburg; a family friend, Dolores M. Kathryn L. (Grindle) Machesky, 70, of Charleroi, formerly of Southwest Greensburg, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at her home. She was born Aug. 9, 1941, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Jess and Esther (Roadman) Grindle. She was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, the Hannahstown Club and was an avid casino player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Z. Machesky;; and a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Machesky. She is survived by three sons, Mark Machesky and his wife, Diane, of Monroeville, David Machesky, of Norvelt, and William Machesky and his wife, Julie, of Cincinnati, Ohio;; a daughter, Ami Machesky, of Charleroi, and her fiance, Kenneth A. Lafferty;; eight grandchildren;; a brother, Richard Neal Grindle, of Derry;; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A private funeral Liturgy will be held in the LEO M. Albina A. “Bina” Guerrieri, 80, of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Greensburg on October 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary (Merlino) Guerrieri. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, James Palmer (Marie), Frank Palmer (Theresa), Ralph Palmer, and Mary Jane Palmer. She is survived by two brothers, Donald Guerrieri, of Greensburg, and Richard Guerrieri (Paula), of Stafford, VA; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Bina attended Greensburg High School and graduated with the class of 1959. Following graduation, she began a long secretarial career, working for the Diocese of Greensburg and received the Assumption Award for her service to the Diocese. During those years, she worked in various capacities: Mission Office, Archives, and for a number of years as secretary to the late Most Reverend Anthony G. Bosco, former Bishop of Greensburg. Bina enjoyed traveling the U.S. and to Europe a number of times. A very memorable and heart-warming vacation was a trip taken with her brothers to their father’s birthplace in Patrica (Frosinone), Italy where they connected with cousins and walked in their father’s footsteps as they explored the little mountain village where he grew up. She remained active in retirement with volunteer activities at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, St. Anne Home for the Elderly, and Caritas Christi, Seton Hill. Bina was a lifelong member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, where she attended morning Mass and was a past participant in several parish ministries. She was an active member of the Dante Alighieri Lodge (ISDA), and a longtime member of the Columbia Federation. Bina was a thoughtful, caring, and gracious lady with many friends. Most of all, she was a wonderful sister who will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the LEO M. Colleen (Guest) Murtaza, 77, of Jeannette, died Monday, July 2, 2018, in Mercy Hospital. She was born March 27, 1941, in Pearson, Ga., a daughter of the late Huerita Lee and Lucille Cooper Guest. She was a member of the First Antioch Baptist Church in Greensburg and enjoyed working with the Culinary Ministry. She was an avid cook and baker, and everyone loved her famous "biscuits." Colleen also loved to bowl and was a very gifted seamstress, working for a while at Annette's Fashions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jamal Murtaza, in 2007; and two brothers, Edward and Robert Guest. She is survived by two sons, Alan Murtaza, of Irwin, and Dion Amos (Anja), of Germany; three daughters, Majeeda "Gigi" Murtaza, of Richmond, Va., Aliyya Lee, of Braddock, and Malika Williams (Rodney), of Jeannette; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Connie Craig, of Jeannette; three sisters-in-law, Beverly Guest, of Atlanta, Ga., Alima Davis, of Banning, Calif., and Jean Murtaza, of North Versailles; a special niece, Colleen Austin (Anthony), of Madison Heights, Mich.; and a host of other nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Colleen from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at First Antioch Baptist Church, 726 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601.
