Logic test review

Review the practice test for argumentation and review the argumentation manual, especially the sections about deductive reasoning (syllogisms) and informal fallacies.

Literature test 1 review ("A & P" and "Barn Burning"):

1. Know people, places and events from the stories assigned.

2. Know differences between the "Barnburning" short story and movie.

3. Know the definition of an archetype (See the Archetypes Handout link above.) Know about the three kinds of archetypes - characters, situations and symbols and associations, and be able to explain the character archetype of Ab Snopes (text 2225 ff.)

6. Be able to explain how Sarty is an initiate and hero.

7. To see a previous essay test for "A&P" and "Barn Burning," look here.

8. Read all materials about "A&P" and "Barn Burning" listed above.

9. Look over your Volpe archetype ACES paragraphs. Consider revising the Volpe paragraph. You may see a similar item on the test.

10. Know differences between the short story and movie versions of "Barn Burning."
