It has been a while since our last post. We competed in the Wake Robotics scrimmage in Cary, NC, and finished 5th out of 10 in the matches. There were no championship matches at this scrimmage. The claw we put on for the scrimmage got stuck closed in every match, so that was quickly disposed of. Instead, inspired by Artificial Stupidity's scoop, we built a bulldozer scoop for the blocks.
At the Elon scrimmage, the elevator arm wasn't working correctly, so we used the scoop to score in the low goal under the pendulum. We placed 3rd in the Qualifying rounds, making us a Captain team for the Elimination rounds. Unfortunately, both ours and our partner's (Art's Legacy) robots lost wi-fi connection and we were shut out. Since then, we have fixed the arm (so we can get blocks in the pendulum goals and hang), built a flag spinner, and added a block flipper for autonomous. Our Qualifier tournament is this upcoming Saturday, January 25th, and we are really excited!
