Saturday, January 19th, was the Elon College FTC Scrimmage. Eleven teams were invited. Our arm was not working when we arrived, so for our first match we only played defense. It ended in a tie, 0-0, for 1 Qualifying Point.
Between our first and second rounds, we got our arm working to reach the first row. But just as our name was called for the next match, the string of our pulley snapped. So we played defense again, again ending in a tie and giving us 1 more QP.
Reinforced with double string, our arm worked beautifully for 10 points in a 40-10 victory in alliance with 250 Ninja Pirates, in round 3, which gave us 2 QP.
Round 4 had a lot of physical play, and we managed to get one ring on the rack and one on the center floor goal for all of our alliance's 6 points. The opposing alliance got a ring on the floor goal during autonomous mode, and then matched our score in tele-op, giving them the win 7-6.
With 4 QP and 60 Tiebreaker points, we placed 6th in the Qualifying rounds. 5064 Aperture Science, 731 Wanabee Strange, 4147 SuperCell, and 6183 ThunderDucks placed first to fourth in that order.
Wannabee Strange selected us as their alliance partner for the elimination rounds. Aperture selected the Ninja Pirates, SuperCell picked 5309 Plan B (appropriate because we were also their first choice), and the ThunderDucks chose 5881 Watauga Robotics.
In the round we played, Wannabee Strange was shut out by Plan B, and SuperCell racked up 115 points by themselves.
SuperCell and Plan B went on to defeat Aperture and the Ninja Pirates to win the scrimmage.
