The reserve has an area of 9 hectares (22 acres), with a length of 700 meters (2300 ft) and a width of 80-190 meters (262-623 ft). The flat or slightly wavy area has 2 hectares (4.7 acres); it is in this area (white in the map) that the parking lot, the houses, the fruit trees, the palm collection and the leisure areas are located.
At the southern end of the property, in front of the main house, there is a small, triangular area of bush and bamboo forest 2000 m2 (0.5 acre) on a soft slope, with a path descending to La Coqueta creek, the reserve’s southern border. This area is a peaceful retreat amid wilderness, just a few feet from the house.
The largest piece of terrain, 7 hectares (17 acres) is the area of nature preserve, and it is this area what makes Guadualito unique in this region. It is an area of secondary forest on the slopes descending to the Río Roble, and a 3 hectare (7.4 acre) bamboo forest on flat land along the river plain. This area, in the reserve’s northern border, includes 470 meters (1540 ft) of forested shores along the Roble River, and it offers many possibilities for wilderness activities, like swimming, fishing, kayaking, bird watching, adventure, etc.
