Bird-, butterfly- and moth- watching is one of our greatest attactions. The reserve's 146 species of birds, over 70 species of butterflies and hundreds of magnificent moths will give you an unforgettable feast of wildlife. You can also spot the agoutis, squirrels, armadillos and sloths that inhabit the reserve, and, if lucky, the elusive bush dog (Speothos venaticus), the noisy howler monkeys (Alouatta seniculus) or even the rare jaguarundi (Felis yagouaroundi), a big black relative of the jaguar. And every day, by 6.30 pm, take place near the guest house for attending a memorable event: the march of a troup of night monkeys (Aotus lemurinus) that live in the reserve. Avoid using flash when taking photographs of them.
