The temazcal is a kind of sauna, a steam bath in which the steam is provided by water thrown on hot stones. It is ceremonially used by several indigenous peoples in Mexico, often associated to beautiful rituals. The ceremony of temazcal is thought to purify the body, and is usually accompanied by aromatic herbs. It is also a memorable group experience, with a great spiritual sense. It is a long ceremony that begins by preparing a fire where large stones are heated, which will then be placed in a hole in the temazcal and bathed with water to produce steam. Visitors are free to use our temazcal. Please ask for instructions.
