The Guest House and the canyon overlook are connected by a lane fringed with mahogany trees, one of the finest timber trees in South America, now almost extinct in the wild. The garden includes a palm collection comprising 130 different species. There are many other trees, like caracolí (Anacardium excelsum), Spanish cedar (Cedrela odorata), kapok (Ceiba pentandra), guayacán (Tabebuia chrysantha), tambor (Schyzolobium parahyba), samán (Samanea saman), Malayan bamboo (Bambusa eutuldoides), guamos (Inga spp.), and many rare fruit trees: arazá (Eugenia stipitata), copoazú (Theobroma grandiflorum), badea (Passiflora quadrangularis), passion fruit (Passiflora edulis), madroño (Garcinia madruno), champo (Campomanesia lineatifolia), chupo (Gustavia superba), almirajó (Patinoa almirajo), borojó (Borojoa patinoi), uva caimarona (Pourouma cecropiifolia), naidí (Euterpe oleracea), mabolo (Dispyros blancoi), India nut (Sterculia foetida), pitahaya (Selenicereus megalanthus), algarroba (Hymenaea courbaril), corozo (Acrocomia aculeata), mararay (Aiphanes horrida), bread fruit (Artocarpus altilis), peach palm (Bactris gasipaes), noni (Morinda citrifolia), sapote (Matisia cordata), pomarroso (Syzygium jambos), sour fruit (Annona muricata), anón (Annona reticulata), avocado (Persea americana), coconut palm, mamoncillo (Melicoccus bijugatus), níspero (Manilkara bidentata), papaya (Carica papaya), chachafruto (Erythrina edulis), tangerine, orange, guava (three species), lemon, bananas and plantains (seven varieties), cocoa, grapes, and macadamia nut.
There is also a Garden of Medicinal, aAromatic and Magico-religious plants, including coca, marihuana, ayahuasca, yopo, and many others.
The whole reserve is surrounded by a wide hedge formed by many plant species, which make up wildlife corridors connecting the forest and the Roble River with the surroundings of the houses and La Coqueta Creek. These wildlife corridors along the borders are the reason why the farm is visited by many animals not found in other farms hedged with a single species, like the swinglea (Swinglea glutinosa) hedges common in our area.
Common animals in Guadualito include agoutis, armadillos, night monkeys, white-nosed coatis, bush dogs, and even an occasional wild cat, the oncilla. The farm has an inventory of 150 bird species, all of them compiled in three posters that are a useful tool for bird watchers and other nature lovers.
