Global Warming mitigation Direct Air Capture (DAC) proposal contribution
Since the October 2018 UN update on having just about a dozen years left to reign in climate change response else face dire consequences, I recently submitted a brief global warming mitigation DAC technology recommendation proposal to the MIT ClimateCoLab. This technology would work most effectively to meet the UN IPCC report SR15 gigatons/yr CO₂ DAC extraction requirement scenario, & I hope it highlights a most effective solution among the myriad of choices available.
I completed the proposal in time for COP 24, on whose website I promoted it heavily through email, web forms, Twitter, Facebook, etc, but I don’t know what, if anything, got through. Consequently, I’d like to keep up the effort to get the proposal before the eyes of the UN, in general to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), who I understand are charged “to prepare a comprehensive assessment of geoengineering, including methods to pull CO2 out of the atmosphere [i.e. DAC]” & in particular “to the United Nations Environment Assembly next week when it meets in Nairobi”, according to Nature. If after looking over the proposal you feel it shows promise as a candidate technology, I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide forwarding this email to the decision-making powers that be at the UN where it can do the most good.
The proposal is in the MIT Climate CoLab titled “End Global Warming & Climate Change Now 2.0”.
