His ears – at first – appear Vulcanoid with their elegant sweep up to an elongated point. However, rather than forming a single point, the ends bisect, forming the classic Halanan double tip.

Psych Profile:
Coel is a slight young man – just barely tipping the chart at 5’10” and 155 lbs. While he has the classic Betazoid black hair, and rather fair skin, his eyes and ears reflect his mother’s Halanan genetics.
On the most part, Coel is a calm, confident individual. The youngest of three and the only boy, he was somewhat pampered as a child. He adores his family, and looks forward to the chance to reunite with them eventually – if only to assure them all is well.
Born on the planet of New Halana, Coelyir Havelis began his life in a mixed home. His father – Donol Mox – was a Betazoid trader and his mother – Syra Havelis – a music instructor, and former premier soprano with the Halanan Opera.
Born into a family with two older sisters, one might expect Coel to be soft – and in a lot of ways, his childhood certainly fit the bill, with plenty of embarrassing photos of him in frilly clothes before he was old enough to extricate himself from the situation without getting himself in trouble. His mother would tease him that – should he choose – he was perfectly qualified for a diplomat’s post. Coel’s heart, though, belonged in the stars.
Coel took his first computer apart at age seven – with less than perfect success at reassembling the device. Fortunately, his father was patient enough to help him through most of it. Over time, he got better at repair, and started diving into other aspects of the device. From there, he expanded into program and design, and began tweaking the systems on his father’s shuttle.
Rather than panic at his son’s curiosity, Donol took the chance to expand Coel’s knowledge beyond Computers themselves, and into applying them to life in general. He taught the boy the rudiments of flight before enrolling him into proper courses.
When he reached secondary school, Coel had a good idea of where he wanted to go with his life. Taking correspondence courses from the local tech school along with his regular classes, he had completed his first two years of university before he ever stepped onto the university campus. By age 20, Coel had his bachelor’s degree and was ready to put his education to good use.
His first job was on his father’s merchant vessel – the MV Mox. After a year of working his way up from scrubbing decks and inventorying supplies to plotting schedules and drop sites, Donol recommended his son to a fellow merchant – Luc Maddix of the MV Vessa. There Coel landed the position of Information Specialist.
Life on the Vessa was a welcome adventure to the young man. Coel was able to put all his education to work, thoroughly enjoying the experience. Of course, all good things must come to an end at one time, and the Vessa was no exception.
Half-way into his second year, the merchant vessel was overcome by pirates. Most of the crew was murdered on the spot, while those surviving were taken onto the Fal Pei. Perhaps it was luck that Coel was counted in the latter; he managed to stay under the radar and stay alive, but he hated every moment.
At last, his luck turned; the Fal Pei ran afoul of the Border Patrol and the ship – and crew – were apprehended. Coel informed the authorities that he was a captive and sought amnesty with the Sparta Crew.
Coel is a bright young man from a steady family. While obviously affected by his experience, he displays a strong character and aptitude for adjustment, given time.
