Character Background:

Psych Profile:

Although 5’10”, Graham doesn’t present as being very tall, his physical demeanor tends to suggest someone shorter, as he often walks in rather relaxed, some might say slouched manner. Graham is of human caucasian descent, bright icey blue eyes, has shoulder length wavy brown hair and a trimmed beard that is always seemingly on the verge of looking scruffy. Although he does have properly cared for and presentable Starfleet uniforms, he tends to wear what some might consider ‘well worn’ examples while on primary duty shifts, preferring to wear something ‘comfortably broke in’. Graham is also quick to change into civilian clothing any chance he gets, often wearing his favorite well used leather coat.

General Overview: Graham can be capricious at times, impulsive and unpredictable in his actions, sometimes following his own situational inclinations, and occasionally with no concern to Starfleet protocol when he was on active duty, often leading to what he deemed best fit the situation at hand.

Graham can be shy in personal situations until he feels comfortable around those he is with. Although he generally gives people the benefit of the doubt, he always has his reservations about others until he gets to know them better. This can affect his social interaction in work environments where although he tends to be cooperative, his reservations about others and his situational inclinations tend to sometimes cause friction, or pull him away from the group, leading to him operating as a lone wolf when help might be needed.

Despite these seemingly dour personality traits, Graham is often a kidder, and generally of a jovial nature when everything is right with his world.

Strengths and Weaknesses:

Although his capricious behavior may seem a weakness to some, and at times had been a detriment to his Starfleet career, it is more often than not, a strength, giving him the ability to think outside the box in dire situations.

Another trait presenting aspects of both strength and weakness is his proclivity to be loyal, almost to a fault, to those he entrusts his friendship to.

On the other hand, he tends to holds grudges for a long while toward those who break his trust.

Ambitions:

Graham has no immediate ambitions, at one time he had a long term interest in commanding his own small exploration vessel exploring the Delta quadrant.

He has also has an ongoing and conflicted desire to regain his former relationship with a Klingon by the name of K'Tahj..

Hobbies and Interests:

The Biathlon, Brewing (particularly 'alien concoctions’), Klin Zha, Klingon culture and history, Subspace Radio and Skiing.

Graham grew up in in a small town called Dog River, outside Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, North America on Earth. His father was rarely planetside, often off on unknown Starfleet duties. Even so, when he was home, he spent as much time with his family as he could, even though it was obvious his parents marriage was strained because of his long disappearances, somehow they held together. Some of his fondest memories were of the times he spent with his dad and his godfather Kethas at winter camp as an adolescent youth, hunting, skiing, shooting, drinking and listening to Kethas sing and share Klingon tales. It was here that he learned to play the great game of Klin Zha. Although he always had an idea what his father was up to because of some of the stories Kethas would share; it wouldn’t be until his death in the Dominion War that Graham truly discovered what his father had been up to all those years working for Starfleet when his godfather, Kethas brought his father’s body home to be buried and told him the truth.

Because his father was often gone, it fell to his mother to raise him and his sister, and this is where he discovered his love for subspace radio and his aptitude for mechanical engineering as he often spent time with his mother in her labs at the Saskatchewan Institute for Interstellar Communications where he tinkered with equipment and made off world ‘penpals’, one of which, because of his fascination with his godfather’s culture, was a Klingon female named K’Tahj, who he has become very close to over the years, and despite the often great distances between them he continues to communicate and confide in her to this day.

When it came to Graham’s sister, he was always overly protective of her, often causing friction between them. Despite their coarse relationship, both have always been loyal to each other and even though they never held many close interests, they both had a love for alien cultures, and because of this, she often stayed up late listening to his subspace conversations, where she would also befriend K’Tahj and discover her dream to explore the stars, against the wishes of their mother. His sister Kristina is currently attending Starfleet in the hopes of becoming a Xeno-Anthropoligist assigned to a deep space exploratory vessel.

Given Graham’s background, it was inevitable that he attended Starfleet academy. Although he never lacked intelligence, his distaste of academics and his personality traits often caused him grief in his early years at the academy. If it wasn’t for his hands on participation in professorial research and development projects he may not have succeeded. During his time at the academy he also kindled an interest and helped create an academy Biathlon team, of which he became the captain and interestingly, many Andorians gravitated to. His former teammates still stay in touch with him and his family to this day, and to his chagrin, one in particular, an Andorian teammate named Thaylos who has since developed a close relationship with his sister. By the time he made it through his initial years at the academy and particularly during his cadet cruise, he became known as a fixer, often solving other people’s problems, sometimes theoretical, and often practical. This reputation led to his entrance into the Engineering Branch school where he became particularly adept at Communications Systems Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Starship Weapons Technology.

It was during his time at the academy that he was finally able to meet his long time and distant friend K’Tahj. Because of their long distance relationship, she had applied to, and been accepted into an academy exchange program. They were able to spend two years together in what some would have literally called a whirlwind relationship, particularly his roommate who hasn’t forgiven him to this day for breaking half of his personal effects. It was during this time he learned the sport of hoverball, having been coaxed into it by her. They also spent much of their time talking about the empire, Kethas and playing Klin Zha. Unfortunately duty and familial responsibilities forced K’Tahj to return to the Empire from where they continue to share a distant yet close relationship to this day. Graham’s godfather Kethas, has also looked in on K’Tahj from time to time for him, and so they too have become familiar with each other.

Since his time at the academy Graham has served on two starships, after exemplary service on his first tour, he was accepted into the Academy’s Department Head School, afterwards returning to regular duty for another two years. Not long after being assigned to the USS Beholder, he was promoted to lieutenant, and assigned a supervisory position as a Damage Control Specialist shift lead. A year later, he had ‘resigned’ from Starfleet and found himself on the FBP Spartan.

After serving for a little over six months, Graham was selected to replace the Engineering Officer Brennan Tighearnach, when he separated from the Spartan and the Border Patrol.
