Asher is fairly tall but tends to slouch from years of being bent over in tight places. His unkempt hair and

occasional stubble make him look a little bit scruffy but he has no interest in how he might look to others. He leans forward slightly when walking due to one leg being slightly longer than the other (a genetic trait in his family that he refused to have fixed by surgical means).

Asher is generally outgoing, gets along and works well with others. He understands the need for rules and

boundaries although will sometimes go beyond what is asked of him even though this has caused a few issues in his career. Having grown up on many small ships he has a fear of open spaces although he loves to be in crowded rooms as long as the ceilings aren’t too high. He’s very social and enjoys catching up with family and friends as well as making new friends. He rarely likes to be alone and will be found

where there is background noise.

Asher (or Ash as he is known by his mother) was born planetside but didn’t remain there for long. The only child of Joyce and Kahl Davis he traveled the stars with his mother’s family after his father disappearance. Asher grew up believing that his father had abandoned the family while his mother believes otherwise. It was a great source of tension between the two of them who otherwise

had a good relationship.

His mother’s family moved from place to place in a sort of merchant caravan finding work where they could, selling their own goods and growing their own food on their many run down ships. It was here that

Asher learned how to fix engines, a trade that served him well over the years. Asher’s maternal grandmother Ophelia Bright ran the caravan. As the so called matriarch she was ultimately in charge of

where they went and what business went on. Each ship contained a captain who reported to her, three of the captains were her own daughters including Asher’s mom Joyce. Asher spent his time between ships working where needed but his favorite thing was to improve the engines when the captains would let him.

Content to remain where he was it was at his mother’s urging that he finally left the caravan to explore his own options in life. Although his mother wants grandchildren Asher has no interest in settling down until he is entirely certain that he can spend the rest of his life with this person. He does not want his children to suffer from a broken family like he believes he suffered without the presence of his father.

Upon leaving the caravan he found work in various places doing odd jobs when he was approached by a freighter captain who watched him repair a gravimetric field displacement manifold in a few minutes

using the tools and parts he happened to have on hand. He was then able to find work by word of mouth in the same circles until ultimately applying for a position on the Spartan.

(Starfleet Medical) Major Sackett’s primary interest is in the safety and security of those he cares about. He has an extraordinary sense of loyalty and responsibility in his makeup, and seems fulfilled in the degree he can shield others from danger. What appears to be shyness is actually a reserved, observant nature, which can often be interpreted as stiffness or even coldness. This is actually an expression of his sincerity and seriousness of purpose. Thoroughness and frugality tend to be a virtue for Major Sackett. Contrasting this are the deep-seated pains and fears of loss, which often war against his primary personality characteristics. While seeking to protect as many as he can, he will only let very few individuals close enough to see beyond the small smile and professional composure. Because of this, he can be found to be two very different people – one for the public, and another that only appears in true privacy.
