Pre-Planning:
Goals & Purpose of my e-Portfolio
The purpose of my e-Portfolio is to accomplish the following goals:
1) To reflect on and consolidate my learning over the past two years (Moon, 2001);
2) To track and showcase my progress and development within the MET program
(Lorenzo and Ittelson, 2005);
3) To demonstrate my ability to put theory into practice, deriving and presenting linkages and applications of research and theories to illustrate the deeper level of understanding about Educational Technology and technology integration into the classroom that the MET program has provided (Lorenzo & Ittelson, 2005);
4) To showcase my MET Trip, including the importance of collaborative practices in personal growth (Lorenzo & Ittelson, 2005);
5) To qualify for the TQS and UBC standards of graduation;
6) To be a useful example for current and future MET students;
7) To be a useful example for teachers and colleagues;
8) To provide evidence of learning for future employers;
9) To celebrate my achievements and growth throughout the MET program and of myself as an educator, researcher and educational technologist;
10) To provide the fuel to ignite life-long learning and future exploration of Educational Technology.
While this MET Trip of mine has been very invigorating, refreshing and rewarding, it has also posed the odd challenge. These will be examined and reflected upon in the Travel Diary, my Final MET Reflections. Join the trip, we’re about ready to take off! Planning is our first stop!
