Species Profiles are to be studied by students every year.

Students must know:

A rotating Aquatic Profile Set is to be studied by students every year.

Students must know:

  • ID essentials (picture or preserved specimen)
    1. Bullhead Catfish
    2. Channel Catfish

Aquatic Plants

Students must know:

  • ID essentials (picture or specimen)
  • Specific adaptations, location in the aquatic ecosystem and impact on the environment.
  1. common duckweed (Lemna minor)
  2. water lily (Nymphaea odorata)
  3. water lotus (Nelumbo lutea)
  4. lizard’s tail (Saururus cernuus)
  5. pickerelweed (Pontederia cordata)
  6. arrow arum (Peltandra virginica)
  7. hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata)
  8. Canadian Waterweed (Elodea canadensis)
