How do we balance quality of life and quality of the environment?
The answer to this question affects us all and each year 500,000 of the most motivated and determined high school students across North America and China embark on a journey to learn about and offer solutions to this critical question through the Envirothon.
The answer to this question affects us all and each year 500,000 of the most motivated and determined high school students across North America and China embark on a journey to learn about and offer solutions to this critical question through the Envirothon.
NC's Envirothon teams are part of that future solution. Each year, hundreds of students across our state participate in NC Envirothon programs and training. Here in NC, projections show a population of well over 11 million by 2020 and with that will come immense environmental challenges. From water quality, to preservation of natural ecosystems, to protecting productive working lands in NC that produce food, feed, fiber and energy along with healthy soils and wildlife habitat. The NC Envirothon helps make our next generation of leaders and thinkers informed, environmentally conscious citizens.

For over 30 years, the NC Envirothon has grown each and every year, with more and more students being reached. With the participation and assistance of sponsors and entities, we can host year-round NC Envirothon events and activities at local, regional & state levels. But we need help continuing this growth into the future.
