All teams in NC must register and participate in an Area Envirothon competition to be eligible for the State Envirothon. This is the qualifying event for the NC Envirothon competition. The top seven (7) middle school and top seven (7) high school teams, plus top FFA team, at each Area Envirothons will qualify to compete at the state-level NC Envirothon. To find out what Area Envirothon your team would participate in, please visit the Area Contests page. Your local Soil & Water Conservation District can assist you in registering your team for the Area Envirothon (see list of Districts).
In order to qualify for the NC Envirothon, teams must first be registered and compete in their local Area Envirothon. Those who qualify at their Area Envirothon (top seven (7) middle school and top seven (7) high school teams, plus top FFA team) will be automatically registered pending payment of the competition registration fee.
TOP AREA TEAMS ADVANCING TO STATE ARE AUTOMATICALLY REGISTERED. Please let your District know if your team is unable to attend the State competition.

There is a participation fee of $300 for each team advancing to the state-level competition. Please contact your local County Soil & Water Conservation District first before paying, many times Districts will pay the registration fee for teams from their county.
Exception to fee deadline will be made for soil and water conservation districts who contact the registration team in advance with notification of the district paying the team’s registration fee.

Payments will be accepted via PayPal with a $6 convenience fee per team added. When using PayPal the total registration fee per team will be $306.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT
The NC Envirothon Committee adopted a standard Student Code of Conduct form for use at all Area Envirothons and the State Envirothon. This form may be downloaded and should be submitted following instructions per event accordingly.
*Please note that Area events may have additional or more restrictive conduct requirements based on event location.
