Yeomanry Regiments

An Illustrated History of the Embroidered Silk Postcards is the standard reference book on embroidered silk postcards. It contains references to over 2600 different cards with over 270 illustrations. The section on Yeomanry Regiments lists 66 cards. The cards listed below are additional cards discovered since the book was published. The latest additions are shown in RED.

The Yeomanry was the Cavalry of the Territorial Army and (unlike the Regular Cavalry) were essentially mounted infantry. Many of the regiments fought in the Boer War and the cards often quote the South Africa honour. In the First World War, they usually fought dismounted alongside the Infantry.

Yeomanry Regiments were small and few embroidered silk postcards were produced for them. Cards are known for only about half of the 57 Yeomanry Regiments. They are all very rare and not many new cards have been discovered since the publication of my book.
