Galapagos 2002

Galapagos Adventure - Summer 2002

In July of 2002, the intrepid adventurers, the Schwartz and Newmark families, were fortunate enough to travel to Ecuador. We explored Ecuador's capitol, Quito (declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1978), Cotopaxi, located in the Andes, the tallest active volcano in the Western hemisphere, and, of course, Galapagos. Galapagos, known as the Enchanted Isles, is a most extraordinary place. Please enjoy some of the many pictures that we took on our trip. (The links are at the bottom of the page.)

The images are divided by area or island. Notice that there are sometimes very diverse ecosystems even on the same island.
