Frogtown

Welcome to Frogtown, New Mexico

Population: 160

Fear Level:3

Frogtown is a old 1800s village, originally settled by General Aloysius Frogg after his service in the Mexican American war in Southern California. It is on the southern edge of Eagle Lake. Crossing Eagle lake is and has always been a high risk endeavour even with modern working technology as the currents are unpredictable and there is a powerful undertow.. Tiwa Tribes say the lake is inhabited by powerful water spirits and they war with invaders from another spirit realm preventing them from taking the people of the land. when General Frogg found the Tunnel and settled Frogtown it was as a place to escape the horrors of the Mexican American war, a lot of the original founders were men from his command who moved out here with him. Urban Legend says that General Frogg was following a "vision from God" that came to him while trapped under a fallen tree in a flooding arroyo"

Supplies:

Food: The Greenhouse provides sufficient food for the inhabitants, supplemented by some fishing from the lake there is an abundance of fresh food but little preserved food.

Water: There is no town water supply. Most places use a Roof collection to store rainwater, with purification. Tuckers Tavern has a old pump head and sewer access. (The old pumphouse is a relic of the old west and a beautiful piece of Pre 1900's architecture)

Fuel and Power: Nearby Coot's Caverns was a fairly productive Ghost Rock mine up until modern mining methods. Post Apocalypse and the Horsemen walking the Earth there is more Ghost Rock here than ever before. as well as some strange purple crystals.

Medical: There is a Pre Apocalypse Nurse in town with an moderate pharmacy. They have 1 medkit that has been well maintained.

Communications: they have some limited communications with The Colfax Airport Community, the Green Mountain Tiwa Tribe, and Comanche Creek Brewery survivors.

Trade: Frogtown has limited trade with Comanche Creek brewery (and via them Elizabeth Town)

Military: Frogtown is accessible via road but requires passing through a semi natural tunnel under Eagle Lake, the original tunnel has been expanded and lined with high Grade HI Plascrete, The other accesses to the town are via difficult overland routs or across eagle lake. There is no town militia or law dog, the Mayor acts as the "Law" in the town and is seen as a friendly and equitable man trying to do the best for the survivors.

The Law:

Major crimes (like murder) can be punished by exile from the community, although a vigilante justice kind of exists, if you kill a person their remaining family have the right to call you out and if they kill you are considered to have been a just murder.

Serious crimes (theft, assault, etc.) are normally punished by jail sentences, stockades, labour punishments or temporary exile

All other crimes are punished by hard labour

Everyone in town (visitors included) are held to a strict moral code.

Scroungin' in the Eagles Nest ruins is allowed by permit only, violation is considered a serious crime.
Scroungin' in the CSA Airbase Deadland is considered a Major Crime unless authorised by the Mayor due to the risk of triggering a monster wave
