Last week we had the first two lessons out of six lessons for your Project to create a Google Sketchup Room Design to enter the IKEA Competition.
You should now have created two things:
1. A Flyer from the competition organizers that is meant to get you interested in entering the competition.
2 A set of Rules for the competition this can be made easy by answering the first 8 questions on the Project 1 instruction page on this website.
We are in the Investigation stage of the Design Cycle and this will last four more lessons the Deadline for completion is the end of the week Friday 13th January 2012 so this means we have 2 weeks after the Christmas break in which to finish. After Christmas I want you to first of all decide what you need to research.
This can be the following topics:
1. Google Sketchup - look at the program say what it does decide what you need to learn in order to create the Room Design
2. Find out what you can about CAD - Computer Aided Design, what is it? Can it be used in this competition? Type the words Computer Aided Design into google search and see what comes up.
3. What Room have you decided to makeover, your bedroom, your living room, the kitchen etc?
4. How big is the room? what are the measurements? Height, Width, Length, where are the windows, doors, etc?
5. Finally make sure you reference anything you use from the internet.
